Homicide Investigation: 8100-block of Jewel Lake Road

Update on 5/1/24:

Through the investigation detectives have determined that 60-year-old Patrick R. Cashman SR shot and killed a 60-year-old female inside their home before turning the firearm on himself. 

Because this is a domestic violence related crime, the victim’s name will not be released by APD.  Next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed for both deceased.

Original on 4/18/24:

At 11:08 AM on April 18, 2024, Anchorage Police day shift officers responded to a residence at the 8100-block of Jewel Lake Road for a welfare check. When officers arrived, they found a deceased adult male and a deceased adult female.

The circumstances of the incident are under investigation, but Officers have cause to believe this is an isolated incident and there is no public safety concern. The cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.

The Crime Scene Team will be responding to process the scene.
