At 4:52 AM on August 26, 2024, Anchorage Police responded to Lions Park located at 435 N Pine Street regarding a disturbance with a weapon.  It was reported that someone had been injured with a machete.  Upon arrival officers located an adult male with a laceration to the upper body.  He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries that he is expected to survive.

No arrests have been made and there is no suspect description available.  The motive behind the assault remains under investigation along with whether the parties involved were known to one another ahead beforehand.
