On December 15, 2021, Anchorage Police responded to South Anchorage in reference to reports of theft of packages off several porches. The suspect was also posing as a delivery driver to attempt to get residences to open their door for him. Several concerned neighbors posted photos and videos of the suspect to social media, which helped officers identify the suspect as 34-year-old Bryson McEneaney.

On December 17, 2021, a Mid-Shift Patrol Officer located McEneaney in the stolen vehicle driving outbound on the Glenn Highway. McEneaney fled, and the officer did not pursue for public safety reasons. At 3:45 a.m., the Wasilla Police Department was told to look out for a stolen vehicle that eluded from Anchorage Police Department and headed north towards the valley. The vehicle was located by Palmer Police Department, which eluded until it stopped. The male suspect, later identified as Bryson McEneaney, exited the stolen vehicle and stole another vehicle at gunpoint. McEneaney again eluded Palmer Police Department, but they were able to obtain a suspect and vehicle description from the victim in the armed robbery.

The Wasilla Police located McEneaney in the stolen vehicle on Palmer-Wasilla Highway, where he attempted to elude the Wasilla Police. The vehicle was wrecked near Riley Ave and Forrest drive. McEneaney exited the wrecked vehicle ran away, armed with a rifle. McEneaney was located unarmed, hiding behind the Valley Transit building.

Bryson McEneaney was arrested and transported to Palmer Police Department for further questioning. From Wasilla PD, Bryson was remanded on one charge of felony Eluding and one charge of Misconduct Involving a Weapon three. Palmer Police Department remanded Bryson to Matsu Pretrial post-interview with their respective charges. This investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
