At 5:52 PM on May 15, 2024, Anchorage Police responded to the home of a Begich Middle School student regarding a threat.  APD had been advised by Begich Staff that a student had posted a threat on the social media platform Snapchat to cause harm at the school.  Officers contacted both the suspect student and the student’s parent.  At the conclusion of the investigation, charges were forwarded for the student to the Division of Juvenile Justice.

If you see something, say something.  The APD takes threats of harm at our schools very seriously.  Parents – please speak with your kids and encourage them to immediately report anything they see or hear that makes them think someone may cause harm to another.
