Update on 5/21/24:

This death is being investigated as a homicide.  For investigative purposes, the victim’s name is not being released.  Next-of-kin notification has occurred.

This remains an open and ongoing investigation; no charges have been filed.

Original on 5/14/24:

At 3:10 PM on May 14, 2024, Anchorage Police responded to the report of a deceased adult female inside a tent near E 46th Avenue and Folker Street.  Upon arrival officers made observations at the scene that are prompting police to take a closer look at the circumstances surrounding the death.  The Crime Scene Team will be responding to process the area.

Ultimately the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
