Update on 6/28/23:

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Harley Alvarez.  Next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.

Original on 6/27/23:

At 4:19 AM on June 27, 2023, Anchorage Police responded to Mile 95.5 of the New Seward Highway regarding a single-vehicle crash with injuries.  Initial indications are that an adult male was driving a black Audi 4-door towards Anchorage when the vehicle left the roadway on the right side and rolled over.  The driver was ejected.  There were no other occupants.

Medics transported the driver to a hospital where he was declared deceased a short time later.  His identity will be released once next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.

Speed is suspected to be a factor.  There were no road closures.
