On 8/30/18 around 3:55 p.m., Dispatch received a report of an infant death at Alaska Regional Hospital (2801 Debarr Road).

Officers with the Patrol Division responded and found the one-year-old child with his parents in the emergency room. Officers interviewed the parents. The body was transported to the Medical Examiner. At the time, the preliminary investigation found the death to be undetermined. The Medical Examiner has now determined the death to be a homicide as a result of trauma to the body. Detectives have questioned several people and are not looking for any suspects at this time. This is an isolated incident.
