Homicide; 10600 block Treeline Court

Anchorage Police responded to a south Anchorage home early this morning, June 26, 2014, in reference to a shooting which claimed the life of a 20-year-old woman.

APD Dispatch received a 911 call at about 12:30 a.m. from a person inside a home located at the 10600 block of Treeline Court. The caller told police that Breanna Richelle Moore, 20, had just been shot. Officers arrived to find Moore dead of a single gunshot wound to the head. Moore’s boyfriend, Joshua Almeda, 22, was taken to APD headquarters for questioning. After conducting a preliminary investigation of the fatal shooting, police have arrested and charged Almeda with Murder 2, Misconduct Involving Weapons6 and Theft 2. Moore's next of kin have been notified. Police are continuing to investigate the incident, along with the APD Crime Scene Team.
