The victim has been identified as Jonathon Smith (35 years old). Next of kin notification has been made.

Update on 8/16/17:
Investigators were notified from the hospital that the victim died from his injuries.

The preliminary investigation has determined the victim was found with a gunshot wound to the head. He was in the driver’s seat of a 2008 tan Chrysler 300 with the license plate CREEPN.

His identification has not been released pending next of kin notification procedures.

No additional details are available at this time pending the investigation.

At 9:26 a.m., Dispatch received a report of a shooting in the 1800 block of Muldoon Circle.

Officers arrived and found a male shot inside a vehicle. He was transported to a hospital with life threatening injuries.

Please avoid the area.
