Update on 7/29/21:
The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Arthur Solomon JR. Next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.

Update on 7/26/21:
The victim has been in the hospital since the shooting; he passed away from his injuries on July 22nd. His death is being investigated as a homicide. There have been no charges filed at this time; the investigation is ongoing.

Next-of-kin notification procedures have not yet been completed. The victim’s identity will be released once that process is done.

At 4:41PM PM on June 17, 2021, Anchorage Police responded to the 2600 Block of McRae Road in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival officers located an adult male victim. He was taken to a hospital for treatment; his condition is unknown.

The details of the shooting to include the motive, circumstances, and number of people involved are still under investigation. There have been no arrests at this time.

McRae Road is closed between Turnagain Road and Spenard Road. Please avoid the area while officers process the scene. Anyone with information regarding this incident, to include surveillance footage of the area, is asked to call Police Dispatch at 3-1-1 (option #1).
