Homicide; 5900-block E 6th Avenue

From the Office of the Anchorage District Attorney:

February 3, 2021 (Anchorage, AK) – Yesterday, an Anchorage grand jury indicted 33 year-old Adam Daniel Fleischman for killing his wife Cassondra Fleischman on January 2, 2021, at their home in Anchorage. Mr. Fleischman was indicted on one count of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder.

If convicted at trial, Mr. Fleischman faces sentences of up to 99 years imprisonment.

These charges are only allegations and are not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent and are entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Mr. Fleischman is currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections. He is scheduled to be arraigned before the Superior Court in Anchorage on February 4, 2021.

The preliminary investigation found that there was a domestic dispute between one adult male suspect and the the adult female victim. At one point inside the residence, the male shot the female in the upper body. He remained on scene and was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect has been identified as 33-year-old Adam Fleischman. He was arrested on multiple charges including Murder I and Murder II.

On 1/2/21 at around 11:30 PM, Officers with the Patrol Division responded to a residence on the 5900 block of E 6th Avenue in reference to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, Officers and Medics located one adult female victim inside the residence with a gunshot wound to the upper body. She was declared deceased at the scene.

One person has been detained and transported to the Anchorage Police Department for questioning by Detectives. While the circumstances are still under investigation, Detectives have cause to believe this is an isolated incident. There are no outstanding suspects and no current road closures at this time.
