A short time later, Dispatch received a request from a family member for a welfare check on an adult male who lived in the 7600 block of Rancho Drive.
When officers arrived, they attempted to contact the male inside the home. Calls continued overnight. The K-9 unit was deployed to assist. During this time, officers received information about a possible female inside the home. A search warrant was requested and granted for officers to enter the home. Shortly after 5 a.m., officers attempted to enter the home and discovered an adult male with a gun. They exited the home. SWAT was requested and deployed to the scene. Officers then evacuated several residents within the proximity of the home. Officers received a report of shots fired from inside the home. After exhausting all other communication efforts to have the male leave the home, SWAT deployed gas into the home. When SWAT entered the home, they discovered the bodies of an adult male and adult female in the bedroom with a gun. As a result, the Homicide Unit was deployed and took over the investigation.
