The suspect was taken into custody by the Investigative Support Unit (ISU) and is now being questioned by detectives.

Detectives believe Samson Costigan is traveling between Anchorage and the Matanuska Susitna Borough hiding from authorities.

Again, Costigan is considered armed and dangerous. Do NOT approach him.

Update 3/19:
A warrant for Murder 1 has been issued for the arrest of Samson Costigan (39 years old).

He is a suspect in this investigation.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect.

Costigan is considered armed and dangerous. Do NOT approach him.

Update 3/19/18 12:32p.m.:
Next of kin notification has been made.
The victim has been identified as Jacob Stough (28 years old).

Update 3/17/17 9:45a.m.:
Detectives have changed this to a homicide investigation. The victim was shot in the upper body. They believe this was a targeted and drug-related crime.

Officer are no longer on the scene of a death investigation in the 8900 block of Dewberry Street.

Update 3/16/18 11:45 p.m.:
Detectives are investigating a death of an adult male found inside a dark colored sedan. The vehicle was suspiciously parked in the middle of Dewberry Street blocking traffic. When residents approached the vehicle, they discovered the body and called 911 shortly after 7 p.m.
