Deandrew Webster II has been located and is in custody after turning himself in to authorities. We appreciate the public's efforts to help us locate him.
Previous Release:
Anchorage police are asking the public for help locating 18-year-old Deandrew Lee Jennings Walker-Webster II who has been charged in the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old. A warrant for his arrest was issued late yesterday afternoon and police have been unable to locate him after checking multiple locations. Webster II has been charged with Manslaughter and his initial bail was set at $50,000 c/c, plus a third-party custodian.
On July 31, 2016, just after 2:00 a.m. Police responded to the area of East 4th Avenue and Newell Street in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival officers found the victim deceased on the ground near his vehicle, a 1995 Honda Accord, with a gunshot wound to his body.
A witness reported to police that prior to officers’ arrival, they had observed the Honda being driven in the area. The vehicle came to a stop and the victim got of the driver’s side door and collapsed in the roadway. Two passengers remained in the vehicle, while two other passengers reportedly ran away.
A preliminary investigation found that the victim was shot by the passenger sitting in the back seat as the victim was driving. The shooter was identified as Webster II. Webster II recklessly caused the death of the victim and has been charged with one count of Manslaughter.

Update on 7/31/16:
The deceased male found in the intersection of E 4th Avenue and Newell Street has been identified as 17-year-old juvenile. His next-of-kin have been identified. As of now, this does not appear to be a random shooting.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is still underway.

At 2:04 AM on Sunday, July 31, 2016, Anchorage Police received a call that there was a disturbance in the street and shots were fired. Officers arrived at E 6th Avenue and Newell Street where a deceased male was in the roadway. Initial indications are that the victim died of gunshot wounds.
No one is in custody and the scene is actively being worked. More information will be released when it becomes available.
