Homicide Investigation: 500-Block of Copperbush Court

Update on 12/19/22:

Initial indications are that 32-year-old Jessy B. Amos got into an altercation with his roommate, during which time Amos produced a knife and fatally stabbed the adult male victim.  Amos was transported to the hospital for treatment of wounds he sustained during the attack; detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Amos for the charges of Murder I and Murder II.  On December 17th, Amos was released from the hospital and subsequently remanded at the Anchorage Jail on his warrant.

The victim’s family has been notified of his death however, the victim’s name will not be released by APD due to this being a domestic violence related crime.

At 01:05 PM on December 16, 2022, officers assigned to Day Shift Patrol responded to the 500-Block of Copperbush Court in reference to a homicide.

When officers arrived, they found a deceased adult male victim with trauma to the upper body.

The Crime Scene Team has responded to process the scene. Please avoid the area and follow the officers’ instructions if you need to be in the vicinity.

Detectives have contacted everyone believed to be involved in this investigation and are not looking for anyone at this time. They believe this is an isolated incident and not random.
