Police searching for Christopher Homan in assault investigation
Update at 4PM on 6/8/22:
Earlier today Christopher Homan turned himself in to police. He was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on his outstanding felony warrant.

Update at 7:16 AM on 6/8/22:
Initial indications are that 30-year-old Christopher E. Homan, who was consuming alcohol, got into an argument with an adult female family member when he discharged a weapon inside the home placing the family member in fear of being harmed. The victim was able to leave the home and call for help. There was concern for a small child who was still inside the residence.
Police arrived on scene and established a perimeter around the home. Officers with the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) also responded; they had video phone calls with Homan during which time they made observations that led them to believe Homan may have left the area prior to police arrival. Officers entered the home and confirmed that Homan was not there. The child was still inside and was safe.
Officers have obtained a felony arrest warrant for Homan for the charges of Assault III, Misconduct Involving a Weapon II, and two counts of Misconduct Involving a Weapon IV. Homan may be armed. Efforts to locate him have been unsuccessful.

Officers have confirmed that the suspect, 30-year-old Christopher E. Homan, left the residence prior to police arrival. Homan’s current whereabouts are unknown and officers are actively looking for him. Officers are obtaining a warrant for Homan for multiple felonies to include Assault and Weapons charges.
Homan is 6’00” tall, 275 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black shorts. Do not approach Homan as he may be armed. If you have information regarding Homan’s current whereabouts, please contact Police Dispatch immediately at 9-1-1.

At 8:27 PM on June 7, 2022, Anchorage Police responded to a residence on the 1900-block of Karluk Street regarding a disturbance with a weapon. No injuries have been reported at this time.
E 20th Avenue and Karluk Street is currently shut down. Please follow officers’ instructions if you are in the area. If you do not need to be in the vicinity, please avoid it and seek alternative routes until further notice.
We ask the public and the media to refrain from posting/publishing photos and/or video of the scene until the situation is over. Showing tactical positions and movements in these types of situations can put the public and officers’ safety at risk.
