Shooting Investigation at 430 N Hoyt Street

At 6:05 PM on August 9, 2024, Anchorage Police swing shift patrol officers responded to reports of shots being fired in a parking lot at 430 N Hoyt Street.  The involved parties had left the scene prior to officer arrival.  While police were canvassing the area, they located a teenaged juvenile male in an alleyway on the 200-block of N Bunn Street; he had been shot at least once in the lower body.  He was transported to a hospital by AFD Medics for treatment of injuries he is expected to survive.

No arrests have been made and there is no suspect information available for release as of now.  The motive for the shooting, the number of people involved, and what the victim’s involvement may be (if any), are still under investigation.  Due to information gathered thus far, police believe this was an isolated incident and not random.  There will be a continued police presence in the area while the scene is being processed.
