The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Conrad Claye JR.

Update on 6/23/22:

This death has been classified as a homicide.  No arrests have been made.

The victim’s name will be released once next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.

Original on 6/22/22:

At 6:57 AM on June 22, 2022, Anchorage Police responded to reports of a deceased adult male lying in the woods near E Northern Lights Boulevard and the Seward Highway.  Officers located the body and made observations which are prompting a closer look regarding the circumstances surrounding this event. 

There will be a police presence while the Crime Scene Team processes the area.  Ultimately the Medical Examiner will determine the manner and cause of death.

There are no road closures associated with this investigation.
