L Street between 9th and 10th is now open.

At 5:53 PM on Oct. 11, 2024, officers assigned to Patrol responded in reference to a motorcycle vs. single vehicle collision with injuries at 10th Ave. and L St.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a motorcycle was traveling southbound on L Street and collided with a Ford Escape that was traveling eastbound on 10th Ave.

Medics arrived and transported the adult male driver of the motorcycle to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The victim’s identity will be released once next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed. 

Additionally, an adult female in the Ford Escape was transported by medics to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ford Escape remained on the scene and was cooperative. 

L Street between 9th and 10th will be closed while officers with the Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) process the scene. Please use alternative routes.

At 5:53 PM on Oct. 11, 2024, Anchorage Police responded to L Street between 9th Avenue and 10th Avenue in reference to a vehicle versus motorcycle collision. L Street between 9th and 10th will be closed while officers investigate the collision.
