Vehicle VS. Pedestrian Investigation: 4th and H Street

UPDATE: 6:41 AM, 10/19/24

At 2:41 AM Oct. 19, 2024, APD Mid-Shift patrol officers responded to the area of 4th and H Street in reference to a hit and run collision with injuries. When officers arrived, they found a 32-year-old adult male unconscious in the road. Medics with the Anchorage Fire Department transported the male to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. As of this update, the injuries are no longer believed to be life-threatening.

The preliminary investigation found that a silver sedan was traveling northbound on H Street when it struck the adult male who was in the road between 3rd and 4th Avenue.  The vehicle fled the scene.  The driver was later determined to be a 28-year-old adult female who has been arrested for Assault 1, Failure to Render Assistance, Driving Under the Influence, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

Traffic remains closed on H street between 3rd and 4th Avenue while the Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) investigates. Please use another route.

At 2:41 AM Oct. 19, 2024, officers with Patrol responded to the area of 4th and H Street in reference to a hit and run collision with injuries. Anchorage Fire Department responded to the scene and the patient was transported to a hospital with life threatening injuries.

H street is closed between 3rd and 4th Ave. Please use another route.

The vehicle involved fled the scene. Police are asking anyone who has information regarding the collision, to include surveillance footage, to please call APD Dispatch at 3-1-1 (option #1) or 907-786-8900 (press “0”).
