APD’s 21-2 Police Academy Class Graduated Today

At 3PM on Thursday, June 9, 2022, Academy 21-2 graduated with sixteen recruits. Two of those are with Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson (JBER), one is with the Wasilla Police Department and the remaining thirteen are APD officers. The APD officers will begin the Field Training (FTO) portion of their program within the next few days. Once each officer successfully completes that phase, they will become a solo officer. Congratulations graduates!

-The Barry Hetlet Officer Survival Award -Wolfgang Boehringer

-The Emergency Vehicle Operations Course award - Brandon Stuemke

-The Distinguished Honor Graduate Award - Jamisson Major

-Parker Boydston : 1) defensive tactics award, 2) Top Shooter, and 3) Valedictorian

“Graduation is a very exciting day for not only APD and the new officers, but for their friends and family, and the community of Anchorage,” said Chief Michael Kerle. “These new officers will selflessly protect and serve our community, in the most professional and compassionate manner possible. We are all very proud of them and look forward to the extraordinary and selfless service they’ll provide to Anchorage.”
