Keep reading for the many ways we can serve you online and over the phone.

Filing a Police Report
Most property crime reports may be filed online.  Simply access the police homepage www.AnchoragePolice.com and click “submit police report” under the “I want to” heading located at the top right side of the page. If you do not have access to a computer, there will be some available in the front lobby for you to use during normal business hours.

If you need to report a stolen vehicle, a lost or stolen license plate, or a lost or stolen firearm, please make that report over the phone.  Dial 907-786-8600 and press option #1.

If you have the type of report that needs to be filed with a police officer, call Dispatch at 3-1-1 (option #1) and they will send an officer to you.  There is also an officer at the front counter who may assist you.

Obtaining a Copy of a Police Report
Only certain reports may be released at the front counter.  Please call 786-8900 (option #1) to see if your report is releasable at the front counter or if you need to file a request online.

Paying a Traffic Citation
There are four ways you may pay for a traffic citation.  The first three ways allow you to do so from the comforts of your own home.

  • Pay online from the police homepage at www.AnchoragePolice.com. Select “Pay a Traffic Fine,” then select the “pay here” button under Traffic Fine, Traffic Citation Issued Phase I. A service fee will be added if you use this option.

  • Pay over the phone using your Visa or MasterCard by calling 907-786-2429 7AM to 7PM, Monday through Friday, excluding Municipal Holidays.

  • Mail a check or money order to 716 W 4th Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska, 99501.

  • Pay in person at APD Headquarters during the business hours mentioned above; cash, check, and Visa or MasterCard are accepted.

Correctable Traffic Citations:
If you have a correctable traffic citation that requires a vehicle inspection (for example: correcting a burned-out headlight or taillight, attaching a license plate, attaching registration tags, and etcetera) then you have two options.  The first is that you may go to the front counter in person.  Make sure to bring the involved vehicle with you. If the citation involves proof of registration, providing a valid driver’s license, and etcetera, please bring the paperwork to the front counter for inspection.

Your second option is that you may resolve a correctable citation by sending an email to APD Records at APDFixItTickets@anchorageak.gov. The subject line should be your last name and citation number. The following are the documents you’ll need to attach:
Proof of insurance – attach a photo of your insurance card that shows you had insurance in effect at the time the ticket was issued.
Proof of Registration- attach a photo of the vehicle’s registration issued by the DMV and a photo of the rear license plate with the new sticker on your vehicle.
Headlight/Taillight- attach a photo showing the vehicle with its lights on.  The license plate must be visible in the picture.
Proof of Driver’s License- Call 907-786-8600, extension 2
Catering Permits
You may email your catering permit application to APDEventPermit@anchorageak.gov or turn it in at the front counter.  The application will not be processed until the application fee has been received.  If you turn in the permit at the front counter, you may pay the fee at that time.  If you email your application, you may pay over the phone from 7AM – 7PM Monday – Friday, excluding Municipal Holidays, by calling 907-786-2429.
