Death Investigation; Mc Carrey Overpass

Update on 9/13/21:

The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Aldrin Patricio. Next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.

Anchorage Police Detectives are asking for anyone with knowledge of this incident, who have not yet spoken to police, to please call Detective Sergeant Cross at 907-786-2438. Anyone with surveillance footage of the Mc Carrey overpass on September 4th, between 5:00 AM and 5:30 AM, are also asked to contact APD.

The victim’s identity is not being released at this time as next-of-kin notification procedures have not yet been completed.

Original on 9/4/21:

At 5:17 AM on September 4, 2021, Anchorage Police received a call regarding a person who was lying on the Mc Carrey overpass. When officers arrived, they located the adult male victim who had trauma to the upper body. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. Officers made observations that have prompted them to take a closer look at the circumstances surrounding the death. Ultimately the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

The victim’s identity will be released once next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.

Anyone with surveillance footage or other information regarding this incident, who has not yet spoken to police, is asked to call Police Dispatch at 3-1-1 (option #1).
