APD Case 23-29362

Original on 9/7/23:

At 6:24 PM on September 6, 2023, Anchorage Police responded to several reports of a male who had fired a handgun outside.  Initial indications are that 39-year-old Diomeris A. De Jesus pulled out a handgun and waived it in the air inside a business located in a strip mall at 500 Muldoon Road.  That action put an employee in immediate fear of physical injury.

De Jesus walked outside, got onto a bicycle, and fired off more than one round into the air.  De Jesus then pointed a gun at an adult male who was sitting inside a parked vehicle in the mall’s lot with his small child.  The male victim, who was put into immediate fear of being harmed, pushed his child down inside the vehicle they were in.  De Jesus then raised the gun and fired at least one more shot before riding off on his bicycle.  There were no injuries.

Officers attempted to locate De Jesus but were unsuccessful.  They obtained a felony warrant for De Jesus’ arrest for the charges of Misconduct Involving a Weapon III – Felon in Possession, Misconduct Involving a Weapon IV – Firing Recklessly, and two counts of Assault III.

Diomeris De Jesus is 5’08” tall, 170 pounds with black hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo under his left eye.  He is known to ride his bike around northeast Anchorage.  Anyone with information regarding De Jesus’ whereabouts is asked to call APD Dispatch at 3-1-1 (option #1) or 907-786-8900 (option #0).  To remain anonymous, you may submit an online tip at www.AnchorageCrimeStoppers.com.
