Homicide; 11000-block Hillside Drive

Update on 7/6/17:

The male suspect has been identified as 75-year-old Larry Vehrs.  He is suspected of fatally shooting his wife before taking his own life.  Next of kin notification procedures have been completed.

Update on 7/5/17:
This case is now being investigated as a murder suicide.  The cause of death appears to be by gun shots. The identities of the male and female are not being released at this time as investigators are still in the process of notifying next of kin.

Original on 7/3/17:

On July 3rd at 3:30 p.m., officers discovered two bodies in the 11000 block of Hillside Drive. It was during a second welfare check call for two people who lived at the residence. The first call happened yesterday evening. Officers performed a security check of the residence, found no one at home and nothing suspicious. They returned to the residence this afternoon after receiving the second call. They conducted a second security check of the residence, found no one home and nothing suspicious. The officers then expanded the security check to the rest of the property. The bodies of an adult male and an adult female were found in a wooded area behind the garage.
 
The identification of the bodies and cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.  There is no public safety threat to the community.
 
The investigation is in the preliminary stages.
