Homicide; 1500-block Hoyt Street

Update on 10/5/18:
The victim has been identified as David Rodriguez (29 years old).

Detectives questioned the shooter and he was released. No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation continues.

On 10/4/18 around 6:30 p.m., Dispatch received a report of a shooting in the 1500 block of Hoyt Street.

The preliminary investigation found that two adult males were at a residence and got into an altercation. One male shot the other in the upper body. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooter has been detained. He is being questioned by detectives. This is an isolated incident. Officers are not looking for any suspects.
