Homicide; Bike path near Viking Drive and N Post Road

Update November 2016:

30-year-old James Dale Ritchie was identified as the suspect in this case.  He was never charged as he was shot and killed during a shoot-out with police on November 12, 2016 (APD Case 16-47382).  Police fatally shot Ritchie after Ritchie shot and severely injured an APD Officer.

Update on 7/5/16:

The two victims from the July 3rd downtown death investigation have been identified as Brianna Foisy, age 20 and Jason Netter, Sr., age 41, of Anchorage.  Foisy and Netter were found by a passerby on a bike path to the west of Post Road and Viking Drive.  These deaths are being investigated as homicides. Detectives are not releasing the cause of death and do not have anyone in custody.

At 7:42 AM on Sunday, July 3, 2016, Anchorage Police responded to the area of Post and Viking in reference to two deceased individuals.  Upon arrival, lying on a bike path to the west of the intersection, police located a deceased adult female and deceased adult male.

This investigation is in its infancy.  No arrests have been made at this time.  Police are still working to determine the cause of death and circumstances under which it occurred.
