Homicide; Duben Avenue and Bolin Street

Update November 2016:

30-year-old James Dale Ritchie was identified as the suspect in this case.  He was never charged as he was shot and killed during a shoot-out with police on November 12, 2016 (APD Case 16-47382).  Police fatally shot Ritchie after Ritchie shot and severely injured an APD Officer.

Update at 1:15 p.m.

Anchorage police have identified this morning's homicide victim as 21-year-old Treyveonkindell Bobby Dwayne Thompson. His next of kin have been notified. Police responded to the area of Duben Avenue and Bolin Street after multiple citizens reported hearing several gunshots in the area around 3:15 a.m. Thompson was pronounced deceased at the scene and appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds. This case is being investigated as a homicide and no suspects are in custody. Anyone with any additional information on this incident is asked to contact APD at 786-8900.

Original Release at 6:00 a.m.:

Just after 3:00 a.m. on July 29, 2016, Anchorage police received multiple calls from citizens stating they heard several shots fired near Duben Avenue and Bolin Street. Officers responded to the area and located a deceased male in the street. Police are investigating the death as a homicide and no suspect is in custody. APD’s Crime Scene Team is responding to further investigate. The victim has not been positively identified at this time.
