Homicide Investigation; 2200-Block Muldoon Road

Update on 11/30/22 at 4:55 PM:

The male juvenile suspect was remanded at the McLauglin Youth Center (MYC).  Charges were forwarded to the Division of Juvenile Justice.

The 12-year-old female victim’s family has been notified of her death.  APD will not release the victim’s name due to her age.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available for publication at this time.

At 6:20 PM on November 29, 2022, officers assigned to Swing Shift Patrol responded to the 2200-Block of Muldoon Road in reference to a shooting.

When officers and medics with AFD arrived they found a juvenile victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was declared deceased at the scene. The Crime Scene Team has responded to process the scene.

One suspect was taken into custody and is being questioned by detectives with the Anchorage Police Department. While the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation, it appears this was an isolated event.
