Update: Homicide Investigation; 900-block Chugach Way

Update on 7/18/24:

All charges related to this case for Anthony Tinker III were dropped by the prosecuting agency on July 15, 2024.

Update on 7/12/24:
Homicide detectives identified a suspect involved in the November 2022 homicide of Brad Robert (APD Case 22-36513). On July 9, 2024, a felony arrest warrant for the charges of Murder in the First Degree and Murder in the Second Degree was obtained for 20-year-old Vincent J. Sandifer. On July 11, 2024, police learned of Sandifer’s location. SWAT responded and took Sandifer into custody without incident. After speaking with Detectives, Sandifer was remanded at the Anchorage Correctional Complex on that warrant.

From the Attorney General’s Office:

Dec. 2, 2022 (Anchorage, AK) – Yesterday, an Anchorage grand jury indicted 29-year-old Anthony Christopher Tinker on one count of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder, and one count of tampering with physical evidence. On Nov. 11, 2022, the defendant is alleged to have murdered a bystander who attempted to intervene in an altercation between Tinker and two of his relatives.

If convicted at trial, Tinker faces a sentence of up to 99 years of imprisonment. Tinker is in custody and is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court on Dec. 5, 2022.

The defendant is also currently charged with numerous felony charges – including first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, and multiple counts of third-degree assault – in connection with an incident that took place several days after the murder. On Nov. 14, 2022, Tinker is alleged to have stolen two different vehicles before barricading himself in a residence.

These charges are only allegations and are not evidence of guilt. Defendants are presumed innocent and are entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Update on 11/28/22:

Charges have been forwarded for 29-year-old Anthony C. Tinker III for Murder 1, two counts of Murder 2, and one count of Tampering with Evidence. Tinker is currently in Alaska Department of Corrections custody on charges related to APD Cases: 22-36888, 22-36907, 22-36910, 22-36913, and 22-36914.

Update on 11/14/22:

The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Brad Robert.  Next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.

No arrests have been made.  The investigation is ongoing.

At 12:58 AM on November 11, 2022, Anchorage Police responded to a residence on the 900-block of Chugach Way regarding a shooting.  Upon arrival officers located a deceased adult male lying outside.
