Homicide Investigation on the 2800-block of W 31st Avenue

Update on 4/2/24:

Anchorage Police Detectives believe they have contacted all involved parties.  The investigation remains open and ongoing; no charges have been filed.

Update on 03/29/24:

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Samuel Biel. Next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.

At 12:06 AM on March 28, 2024, Anchorage Police responded to an apartment complex on the 2800-block of W 31st Avenue regarding a shooting.  Officers located an adult male lying in the parking lot with at least one gunshot wound to the upper body.  He was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

No charges have been filed and there is no suspect information currently available for release.  The circumstances surrounding the shooting, to include whether any relationship existed between the involved parties, is still under investigation.
