LARGE POLICE PRESENCE: 4000 BLOCK OF DEBARR ROAD
APD CASE #: 25-2154
DATE/TIME OF INCIDENT: JAN. 21, 2025 AT 11:22 AM
UPDATE: On January 21, 2025, at 11:33 AM, officers responded to a report of a male subject passed out in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers parked on each side of the SUV and then attempted to wake the driver by issuing verbal commands over the PA system and activating a siren.
The driver, described as a heavyset Polynesian male in his twenties to thirties, wearing prescription eyeglasses, eventually awoke and, without hesitation, accelerated through the barricade. The suspect drove through a residential yard, crashing through a fence and striking a gas line, a parked trailer, and another vehicle in an attempt to evade officers.
Spike strips were successfully deployed to stop the fleeing suspect, resulting in multiple deflated tires. Despite the damage to the vehicle, the suspect continued to flee the scene. Given its condition, it is believed to have been abandoned and may currently be sitting on flat tires.
Officers are actively searching for the vehicle and suspect. Residents are advised to report any sightings of an abandoned or suspicious vehicle matching the description. Further investigation is ongoing.
