With the help of citizens, officers located the adult male victim in the woods.  He had been assaulted with an axe leaving him with injuries to both the upper and lower body.  He was transported to a hospital by AFD Medics for treatment of his wounds which he is expected to survive.

Through the subsequent investigation it was determined the injuries were inflicted by 27-year-old Miracle E. Sala.  The reason for the assault, and whether the victim and suspect were known to one another ahead of time, are still under investigation.

Detectives have obtained a felony warrant for Sala for Assault in the First Degree.  Efforts to locate Sala have been unsuccessful thus far.
