Motorcyclist Dies in 09/16/22 Collision at Tudor/Cordova

Update on 10/17/22:

The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Roberto Del Real.  Next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.

Original on 10/14/22:

On 09/16/22 at 06:40AM Anchorage Police Department mid-shift patrol officers responded to Tudor Road and Cordova Street for a report of a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle. The preliminary investigation determined that a GMC Sierra was traveling westbound on Tudor Road when it made a left turn onto Cordova Street in front of a motorcycle, which was traveling eastbound on Tudor Road.

Medics with the Anchorage Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the motorcyclist, an adult male, to a local hospital. The victim died on 10/14/22 as a result of injuries from that collision. 

The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. The driver was issued a citation for failing to yield when turning left.

 The victim’s identity will be released following next of kin procedures.
