HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION: 3131 Muldoon Rd
UPDATE: At approximately 4:03 PM on February 7, 2025, APD officers were dispatched to 3131 Muldoon Rd. for multiple reports of a male adult laying in the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers located the male adult with trauma to his upper body. APD officers and AFD medics rendered aid and transported the victim to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
A male adult suspect located in the area was identified as 28-year-old Tristin Short. Short was detained at the scene and transported to the Anchorage Police Department for questioning by detectives. After the detectives’ interviews, Short was remanded at the Anchorage Correctional Complex and charged with two counts Murder in the Second Degree.
Through the investigation it has been determined the suspect and the victim were former roommates. Under Alaska State law, this crime is qualified as a domestic violence incident; the victim’s name will not be released by APD.
UPDATE: 6:05 PM
The victim has succumbed to their injuries. Next-of-kin procedures are under way.

Due to the sensitive nature of this case, we have retracted our previous statement regarding the release of the victim’s name. No further details will be given on this case.
ORIGINAL NARRATIVE: At 4:02 PM on February 7, 2025, officers responded to the 7900-block of E 32nd Ave in reference to multiple callers reporting a stabbing. Upon arrival officers located the suspect and took them into custody.
The victim was located and has been transported to a hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.
