Nine years after the disappearance of 6-year-old DaShawn McCormick in Alaska, law enforcement continue to actively search for clues in the case
This year marks the ninth anniversary since Jasmine McCormick last saw her 6-year-old son, DaShawn McCormick, who was reported missing to the Anchorage Police Department on February 10, 2014. The Anchorage Police Department, FBI, Alaska State Troopers, and the NCMEC continue to identify leads in the case and are asking anyone with information regarding DaShawn’s disappearance to step forward.
Jasmine states she last saw DaShawn in Anchorage during the spring of 2013, just before she returned to her home in the lower 48. Shortly after Jasmine’s visit, DaShawn’s biological father and legal custodian, Floyd L. Lee Jr., was arrested by the FBI, alongside his girlfriend, Mary Transki, on unrelated charges. There was no indication that any other child, except Mary’s two children, was living in the home at the time of the arrest.
Upon hearing of their arrests, Jasmine petitioned a Palmer court to gain custody of DaShawn, which was granted in December 2013. Subsequently, authorities were unable to locate DaShawn to place him in his mother’s custody. Law enforcement has conducted interviews of family members and associates, but none of the information has led to finding DaShawn.
