Police Presence on the 5400-block of Larkspur Circle

Update on 8/27/24:

When swing shift patrol officers arrived at the location, they saw 35-year-old Michael D. Ponte in the driveway.  Upon seeing police, Ponte ignored their commands and ran into the home.  Ponte had a felony probation warrant for the original charges of Assault in the First Degree and Assault in the Second Degree.  He was also an absconder from probation.

Officers contacted another adult at the door; that person exited leaving Ponte inside the residence alone. Police negotiators spent approximately one hour attempting to talk Ponte out of the home.  When Ponte remained unresponsive, police obtained a search warrant and entered the house.  Eventually Ponte emerged from where he was hiding; he was taken into custody without further incident.

Michael Ponte was remanded at the Anchorage Correctional Center on his warrant.  He was additionally charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting/Interfering with Arrest.
