Update on 8/22/17:
The deceased has been identified as Terrance Williams (25 years old). Next of kin notification has been made.

Detectives believe this crime is drug related. There are no additional investigation details to release at this time.

Update on 8/16/17:
Investigators have determined the two adult male suspects broke open the front door of the residence and entered unannounced. A couple, an adult male and adult female, were inside. The adult male resident and one of the adult male suspects exchanged gun fire. The adult male suspect with the gun was shot. Both suspects then fled.

No one else was inside the residence. No one else was hurt.

No additional details are being released at this time pending the investigation.

8/15/17 10:46 a.m. Update:
The preliminary investigation has found this to be a home invasion shooting. One of the residents shot one of the suspects as they were attempting to enter the residence; both adult male suspects ran off. The injured suspect was found by officers lying in a driveway; he was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Investigators are questioning several people and believe this is an isolated incident and not random.
No arrests have been made and there is no suspect information to release at this time.

On 8/15/17 at 5:20 a.m., Dispatch received a report of a shooting in the 3700 block of Core Court.

Officers arrived on the scene and found an adult male lying in a driveway with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and not random.
