Santino Figueroa Indicted for Anchorage Murder

Dec. 6, 2024 (Anchorage, AK) – Today, an Anchorage grand jury indicted 18-year-old Santino Arce Figueroa for the murder of Krystopher Encabo, 35, on Nov. 23, 2024. Figueroa was indicted on one count of First-Degree Murder, two counts of Second-Degree Murder, and one count of Tampering with Physical Evidence.
If convicted at trial, Figueroa faces sentences of up to 99 years of imprisonment for each of the murder charges and up to 5 years for the tampering with physical evidence charge.
These charges are only allegations and are not evidence of guilt. The defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Figueroa is in the custody of the Department of Corrections. He is scheduled to be arraigned before the Superior Court on Dec. 10, 2024.
UPDATE on Nov. 26, 2024:
The victim in this shooting, 35-year-old Krystofer Encabo, passed away because of the injuries sustained in the shooting. Next-of-kin notifications have been completed.
The suspect has been identified as 18-year-old Santino Figueroa. Figueroa was charged with one count of Murder 2 and remanded to the Anchorage Correctional Complex.

At 1:41 PM on Nov. 23, 2024, officers responded to the 4300 block of San Ernesto Ave in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival officers located an adult male with gunshot wounds to the upper body. The victim has been transported to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Detectives believe this is an isolated incident and not random. Anyone with information regarding this incident, to include surveillance footage of the area, is asked to contact Police Dispatch at 3-1-1 (option #1) or (907)786-8900 (option #0).
