Shooting Investigation at Davis Park at 5081 Mountain View Drive

Update on 5/18/23:

The victim is expected to survive his injuries.  He has been uncooperative with the investigation.

Initial indications are that the gunshot wound was self-inflicted, caused by an accidental discharge.

At 2:45 PM on May 17, 2023, Anchorage Police responded to Davis Park located at 5081 Mountain View Drive regarding a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body.  He has been transported to a local hospital for treatment; his condition is unknown.

 There is a large police presence in the area.  No arrests have been made and there is no suspect information to share as of now.  Please avoid the area.  If you have any information regarding this incident, to include video surveillance footage, please contact APD Dispatch at 3-1-1 (option #1) or 907-786-8900 (press “0”).
