Shooting Investigation on the 200-block of W 14th Avenue

At 3:21 AM on May 14, 2024, Anchorage Police responded to reports of gunshots being heard on the 200-block of W 14th Avenue.  Upon arrival officers located an adult male, lying in an apartment building parking lot, with at least one gunshot wound to the upper body.  He was transported to the hospital with critical injuries that he is now expected to survive.

Police contacted several individuals, one of whom is an adult male with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body.  At this time police believe they have contacted everyone involved.  Detectives are currently conducting interviews; no charges have been filed.

There will be a continued police presence while officers process the area.  The parking lot of the building is closed off as well as W 14th Avenue between B and C Streets.  If you need to be in the vicinity, please follow the instructions of officers at the scene.
