Dylan Moss Indicted for February Murder in Anchorage

Feb. 15, 2024 (Anchorage, AK) – Today, an Anchorage grand jury indicted 24-year-old Dylan Cole Moss for causing the death of 21-year-old Gabriel LeBlanc. Moss has also been charged with one count of Misconduct Involving a Weapon in the Fourth Degree for possessing a firearm while his mental and/or physical abilities were impaired by alcohol.
On Feb. 10, 2024, Anchorage Police Department responded to an apartment complex off Huntsmen Circle after a male identifying himself as Moss called 911 stating he shot someone in the head. Police found Gabriel LeBlanc deceased in his bedroom from a single gunshot wound to the head. Dylan Moss was standing outside the front door of the apartment when police arrived and was detained for questioning. Moss was subsequently arrested.
The charges in the indictment are only allegations and are not evidence of guilt. Moss is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Moss is in the custody of the Department of Corrections. The court previously set bail at $100,000 cash performance plus house arrest monitored by the Pre-Trial Enforcement Division. He is scheduled to be arraigned before the Superior Court on Feb. 20, 2024.
Update on 2/12/24:
The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Gabriel LeBlanc. Next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.
Update on 2/10/24 at 3:50 PM:
Initial indications are that the adult male suspect and adult male victim were known to one another and were inside the victim’s home. The suspect, 24-year-old Dylan C. Moss, discharged a handgun striking the victim in the upper body. Moss called 9-1-1 and was cooperative with the responding officers; he was driven to the Anchorage Police Department for questioning.
The victim succumbed to his injuries not long after being transported to the hospital. His name will be released one next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.
Dylan Moss was remanded at the Anchorage Correctional Complex on the charges of Murder II and Misconduct Involving a Weapon IV. The dynamics of the incident, to include the motive, are still under investigation.

At 2:32 AM on February 10, 2024, Anchorage Police responded to a residence on the 7300-block of Huntsmen Circle regarding a shooting. Upon arrival officers located an adult male inside with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was transported to the hospital by AFD medics with what is believed to be a life-threatening injury.
One person has been detained and is being transported to the Anchorage Police Department for questioning by detectives. As of now, police believe they have contacted everyone involved and no one is outstanding.
The Crime Scene Team will be responding to process the site. There will be a police presence in the area for several hours while that takes place. There are no road closures.
