SHOOTING INVESTIGATION: Richmond Av and Taylor St

UPDATE Dec. 29, 2024: Four suspects were detained in reference to this incident, two have been charged in relation to the shooting. They have been identified as 20-year old Sam Moeai Jr and 18-year-old Arielu Malama. Both have been remanded to the Anchorage Correctional Complex (ACC), Moeaji on charges of Misconduct with a Weapon I, six counts of Assault III, and Failure to Stop; Malama on Misconduct with a Weapon I and six counts of Assault III.

This investigation is still ongoing.

 NARRATIVE: At 05:15 AM on Dec. 29, 2024, officers responded to the Mountain View Area in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival officers heard shots fired; near Penland Pk and Airport Heights Dr officers located an involved vehicle with two adult-male victims; the first with trauma to the upper body the second with trauma to the lower body. The victims have been transported to a hospital; the first for treatment of life threatening injuries, the second for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Another passenger from the vehicle fled and a fourth was detained.

Officers were able to determine that the shooting took place at the intersection of Richmond Av and Taylor St.

The suspect has not been detained at this time.
