Timothy Solomon Facing Multiple Charges in Vehicle Theft Investigation

At 6:38 AM on August 27, 2024, a gray 2012 Chevy Silverado pickup was reported as stolen to APD.  The vehicle had been parked in front of a residence on the 17400-block of Coronado Road in Eagle River.

At 7:51 AM day shift patrol officers saw the stolen Chevy being driven near E 12th Avenue and Eagle Street in Anchorage.  Officers initiated a traffic stop, but discontinued the pursuit when the suspect eluded them.  After the pursuit was terminated, the suspect ran the stop sign at E 12th Avenue and Gambell Street.

One block later, at E 12th Avenue and Ingra Street, the suspect collided with two Subarus and a Ford causing damage to all four involved cars.  The stolen Silverado rolled and landed on its roof; the suspect fled on foot and was caught shortly thereafter.

Minor injuries were sustained by some of those involved in the crash.  Ingra Street was closed between E 9th Avenue and E 15th Avenue until all the vehicles were removed from the scene.

21-year-old Timothy A. N. Solomon was transported to the Anchorage Police Department for questioning.  A computer check revealed he had an outstanding felony warrant for the charges of Robbery I, Assault III, and Theft II.  At the conclusion of the interview, Solomon was remanded at the Anchorage Correctional Complex on his existing warrant.  He was additionally charged with Vehicle Theft I, Theft II, Fail to Stop, Reckless Driving, two counts of Reckless Endangerment, four counts of Criminal Mischief, and Resisting Arrest.

Initial indications are that Solomon was rummaging through parked cars in the Eagle River neighborhood in the early morning.  In one vehicle he found keys to the Chevy pickup parked in the same driveway.  Solomon used those keys to enter the Silverado and drive away.
