Fatal Traffic Collision-All Northbound Lanes of Glenn Hwy Closed between Boniface and Turpin

The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Amy Fredeen

Update--07/28/22--07:30PM
At 05:29 PM on July 28, 2022, Officers with the Swing-Shift Patrol and medics with the Anchorage Fire Department responded to the Glenn Highway Northbound in between Boniface Parkway and Turpin Street in reference to a vehicle collision with injuries.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a Chevrolet Camaro was traveling northbound on the Glenn Highway when it collided with a Dodge Durango that was also traveling northbound. The adult female driver of the Chevrolet Camaro was declared deceased at the scene. The victim’s name will be released once next of kin procedures have been completed. The adult female driver and one juvenile passenger of the Dodge Durango were transported by medics with the Anchorage Fire Department to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No charges have been filed at this time.

Please expect closures and delays for the next several hours while investigators with the Major Collision Investigation Unit process the scene. A drone may be used in this investigation.

Anchorage Police Officers have responded to multiple calls regarding a vehicle collision on the Glenn Highway at Turpin. All northbound lanes of the Glenn Highway are closed between Turpin and Boniface. Drivers are asked to please use alternate routes.
