Traffic Fatality - 9th & Ingra

The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Gina Amik.
Next of kin procedures have been completed.

At 4:02PM on December 23, 2023, officers assigned to swing-shift patrol and medics with the Anchorage Fire Department responded to 9th & Ingra in reference to a vehicle collision with injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a Toyota Tacoma was traveling northbound on Ingra when it ran a red light at 9th Avenue and collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe that was traveling eastbound on 9th Avenue.
The adult female passenger of the Chevrolet Tahoe was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s identity will be released once next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.
Medics arrived and transported the adult male driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The adult male driver of the Toyota Tacoma was also transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Northbound lanes of Ingra will be closed at 9th Avenue while investigators with the Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) process the scene. Please use alternative routes.
The circumstances of the collision are still under investigation.
