Traffic Investigation at Tudor Rd and McLean Pl

UPDATE: On August 21, 2024 at 10:50 AM, E Tudor Road and Baxter Road are now open.

ORIGINAL: At 4:56 AM on August 21, 2024, Anchorage Police Mid-Shift Patrol Officers responded to the area of E Tudor Road and McLean Place regarding a vehicle versus pedestrian crash.  The preliminary investigation indicates an adult male pedestrian entered the roadway in the path of a westbound semi (not in a crosswalk).  Once the collision occurred, the semi driver called police.  The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital by AFD Medics with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

The reason for the pedestrian being in the road is under investigation.  No citations or charges have been filed.

The Major Collision Investigations Unit (MCIU) has responded to process the scene.  All westbound lanes of E Tudor Road, between Baxter Road and Defiance Street will remain closed while that occurs.
