TRAFFIC INVESTIGATION: TUDOR ROAD AND THE SEWARD HIGHWAY
Update on 4/29/24:
The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Terry Alexie. Next-of-kin notification has been completed.
Update on 4/27/24:
The victim passed away at the hospital on April 27, 2024, from injuries he sustained in the collision. His name will be released once next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.
Original on 4/20/24:
On April 20, 2024 at 12:17 AM, Anchorage Police mid-shift patrol officers responded to area of Tudor Road and the Seward Highway for a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision. Medics with the Anchorage Fire Department also responded to the scene and transported an adult male pedestrian to a hospital where he is reported to be in serious condition.
The preliminary investigation found that the adult male was standing in the roadway (not in a crosswalk) when he was struck by a grey GMC Yukon that was traveling westbound on Tudor Road.
The Major Collision Investigations Unit (MCIU) responded to process the scene. All lanes are now open.
The driver remained on the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
