UPDATE: Jalonni Blackshear is a person of interest in last Friday’s double homicide

Jalonni Blackshear has been taken into custody in New York state. No further details are available at this time.

Update on 4/19/22:

The deceased have been identified as a 35-year-old female and a 14-year-old female.  Their deaths are being investigated as a homicide.

39-year-old Jalonni M. Blackshear has been identified as a person of interest in this case.  Jalonni is considered to be armed and dangerous; it is believed that he has fled the state.  Jalonni is 5’10” tall, 250 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.  Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the Anchorage Police Department at 907-786-8900 (press “0”).  To remain anonymous, you may contact Crime Stoppers online at www.AnchorageCrimeStoppers.com.

Jalonni is related to both victims.  Due to this being a domestic violence related crime, the victims’ names will not be released by APD.

At 1:08 PM on April 15, 2022, Anchorage Police officers assigned to Day Shift Patrol responded to the 3800-block of Resurrection Drive in reference to a welfare check. When Officers arrived, they discovered two people deceased in the residence.
 
While circumstances around the death are still under investigation, police have deemed this death suspicious in nature. The Crime Scene Team has responded to process the scene. Ultimately the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
