Vehicle vs Bicycle Collision: Bragaw/Debarr

Update—9:00PM—10/13/22

On 10/13/22 at 6:06PM Anchorage Police Swing Shift Officers and Investigators with the Major Collision Investigation Unit responded to a vehicle vs. bicycle collision at the intersection of Bragaw Street and Debarr Road. The preliminary investigation indicates that the bicyclist was traveling Southbound, at the crosswalk, on Bragaw when he was struck by a Suburban that was traveling Eastbound on Debarr. The Suburban had a green light and was passing through the intersection when it collided with the cyclist. The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation. The adult male bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. No one in the Suburban was injured. There have been no arrests made.

On 10/13/22 at 6:06PM Anchorage Police Swing Shift Officers and Investigators with the Major Collision Investigation Unit have responded to a vehicle vs. bicycle collision at the intersection of Bragaw and Debarr. The intersection will be closed for several hours. Drivers are to use alternate routes.
